What is the Ideal Landing?

Landing is the hardest part of the training. Most of the students show learning plateaw.
One of the students of our school had hard time of practicing landing. She has flown for 60 hours but not soloed yet.

I asked her some questions about her problem and found out that she doesn't have a image of good landing. She knows the procedure-when to reduce power, when to set flaps but she doesn't know when to start flare, how much pitch should be up, where to look during flare after the cowling hide the horizen.

You must know what is ideal landing seaquence. Some people think touching down in flat level attitude is good landing. No way! CFI should realize that many students don't have the best model to copy.

Whatching other's landing is good practice. Have your CFI with you, let him point out good landing and bad landing. In this way you can have good image of the landing from out side.
While you are flying, always have this image and try to make it as similer as possible.

Also, ask your CFI for landing demonstration. Memorize the view from the cockpit as if you are watching the movie, how is the aiming point moving, how is the cowling moved, feeling of touch down. Repeat this image over and over, and your body will react to make your landing close to the best one.
